Cattle belong to the ox family along with bison, yak, and water buffalo and are used for meat, milk, leather and medicine. The types of cattle you will see at Paradise Country are jersey cows, fressian cows and a mixture of other milking varieties.
An interesting fact about cattle is that they have four chambers to their stomach. They initially digest their food into the first then the second chamber. Once the food is in the second chamber they bring the food back into the mouth. This food is called a cud. The food passes into the third chamber where the moisture is removed and then this food enters the fourth chamber or "true stomach". Other animals that process their food in this manner include the camel, deer, giraffe, goat, sheep, antelope, and llama.
