Things to do

Dancing

See a spellbinding Aboriginal Dance Show and have a photo opportunity with the Dancers. This performance will provide you with a fascinating introduction to Aboriginal dance, the music of the didgeridoo, the Dreaming and the Aboriginal culture as you sit amongst the beautiful Melaleuca trees.

Feed The Animals

Feed the sanctuaries friendly kangaroos; and get up close to Tasmanian Devils, Wombats, Echidnas, Crocodiles (including a 4.8 metre salty), Bilbies, Snakes, Lizards, Cassowaries, Tree Kangaroos and many others! An experience like no other!

Segway Safari

Imagine gliding gently through the lush surroundings of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s natural coastal rainforest and eucalyptus filled environment on a one hour Segway Safari. Well, your dream is about to become a reality! Each Segway Safari takes in wildlife displays and experiences along the way. Segway 50mins = 10mins training plus 40min guided tour of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary..

Wild Island

The exciting Wild Island adventure play area is ideal for the little ones and includes wombat tunnels, tree houses, sandpits with buried dinosaur bones, flying fox’s and more.

Wildlife Demonstrations

Fantastic wildlife shows including feeding the famous wild Rainbow Lorikeets every morning and afternoon along with Air Asia Free Flight Bird Show & eagle Photo opportunity. The Australiana Show featuring Sheep Shearing Demonstrations and Snake photo opportunities are a popular attraction at the park. Feeling brave? The Crocodile Behaviours Show & Baby Crocodile Photo Opportunity and Pelican & Eel feeding, Dr Doo-Lots & the Creature Teachers Show & Simply Magic & Animal Show!

Wildlife Hospital

Visit the Wildlife Hospital Precinct within Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to see the amazing vets and volunteers in action. The Wildlife Hospital admits over 7000 native animal patients annually with each case receiving the highest level of veterinary care. Following their intensive treatment, the native animals are rehabilitated and then released back into the wild.

How to get there

  • Car
    From the south:
    Travel along the Pacific Highway onto the Gold Coast Highway at Coolangatta. From there, follow the highway to Currumbin and take a right turn at the Currumbin Hill lights into Tomewin Street.

    From the north:
    Follow the Gold Coast Highway to Currumbin. Follow the highway over the Currumbin Bridge and onto Currumbin Hill. At the bottom of the hill turn left at the lights into Tomewin Street.

  • From the north:

    Follow the Gold Coast Highway to Currumbin. Follow the highway over the Currumbin Bridge and onto Currumbin Hill. At the bottom of the hill turn left at the lights into Tomewin Street.
  • From the M1 Motorway:

    Follow the M1 Motorway and take exit 95 to Stewart Road. If coming from the south, turn right and drive over the highway. If coming from the north, keep left when exiting.
    At the lights at Tugun where Stewart Road joins the Gold Coast Highway, turn left at the lights, follow the Gold Coast Hwy to the Currumbin Hill lights and turn right into Tomewin Street.

Additional Information

Parking is available directly opposite the entrance to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary for $5 per day however free parking is available on the streets surrounding the park.
