Shark Week Activities

Did you know approximately 1/5 of all shark species are listed as threatened by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature?

Sharks are apex predators that play a huge role in maintaining the balance in our ecosystems and keeping our oceans healthy.

Join Sea World and the Research & Rescue team in park on Saturday 9 December for the launch of Shark Week 2017. Learn more about the threats facing sharks and what you can do to help!

Activities at Shark Bay on Saturday, 9 December will include:

  • Q&A session with a Shark Bay Diver – 11:45am
  • Shark Week Talks – 11:30am & 2:10pm
  • Shark Week Colouring Mural for the kids - 10:00am to 4:00pm
  • Face painting (Gold Coin donation to SWRRFI) - 12:00pm to 2:00pm
  • Sea World Research & Rescue Stall from 10:00am to 4:00pm, including shark tooth display; relics and images from research & rescue missions; fact sheet & colouring sheet giveaways!

There’ll also be a range of other activities available throughout the week at Shark Bay on selected days from Sunday 10 December – Thursday 14 December:

  • Shark Week Talks every day from Sunday 10 to Thursday 14 December - 11:30am & 2:10pm
  • Q&A session with a Shark Bay Diver on Monday 11 & Wednesday 13 December at 11.45am
  • Face painting (Gold Coin donation to SWRRFI) – Sunday 10 December from 11:00am to 12:00pm
  • Sea World Research & Rescue Stall on Sunday, 10 December from 9:45am to 12:00pm. This includes a shark tooth display; relics and images from research & rescue missions; fact sheet & colouring sheet giveaways!
