Details of the Program
Experience an exclusive behind the scenes tour of Sea World's resident rescued animals with the Marine Rescue Ranger Program. Get up close and personal with rescued seals, turtles and so much more, as you learn about the threats to marine life and what you can do to help protect them in the future.
On the day*:
- Meet a resident rescued seal
- Explore our behind the scenes Turtle Rehabilitation Area
- Learn about the Sea World Research & Rescue Foundation and Sea World's role in rescuing and caring for injured marine animals
- Discover how to identify our rescued dolphins
Winter Program 01 May - 31 October
Includes: Meeting the trainers and animals of Polar Bear Shores.
Learn all about our incredible dolphins and Polar bears. Gain an in-depth understanding about these amazing animals, why these animals sometimes need rescuing, and the relationship between the preservation of the world's environment and the survival of its precious inhabitants.
Summer Program 01 November - 30 April
Includes: Reef Walk at Shark Bay
Guests snorkel though intertidal rock pools at Shark Bay, learning about the range of animals that live here.
Program commences at 10:00am and the duration is 2 hours. All participants of this experience must hold a valid pass to enter the park.
*Please note that due to the behind the scenes nature of this program, family and friends are unable to join the participant as observers. Each experience is unique based upon the participants, trainers and animals.
Participants are required to check-in at the Animal Adventures Centre (Map Ref Q3) one hour prior to the program start time.
- Participants must be aged 8 to 14 years of age. Participants will be supervised at all times by a designated Sea World staff member, excluding while participants are changing. Parents/guardians are not able to join the group
- Participants must be able to speak and/or understand English, or have a translator participate in the program with them. There are no complimentary programs for translators. Persons acting as a translator must advise staff at the start of the program. Translators must satisfy all criteria
- Participants must wear enclosed footwear (no thongs/open toe sandals)
- Minimum height 126cm (measured without footwear)
- Participants must have controlled motor movement
- Participants must be able to swim (Summer program only)
- Participants must read and acknowledge all health risks (some medical conditions will prohibit participation). Refer to Snorkel Health Risk Information file (Summer program only).
- Participants are required to bring their own bag, bathers, towel and dry clothes, when a Reef Walk is included
- Guests are not permitted to wear any ARM/LEG jewellery including rings, anklets, bracelets, toe-rings, religious and cultural ornamentation unless it is unable to be removed then it has to be taped
- Participants must follow directions quickly to the satisfaction of staff
- Participants must be able to quickly exit back of house areas unassisted
- Participants must not have any open cuts or infections
- Please inform staff of any medical conditions during check-in
- Please be advised that Peanut Butter is used in the Polar Bear Shores area. Please advise staff of any allergy concerns
- Participants must not have any form of disability which prevents them from satisfying the criteria for participation
- Animal Adventure booking is non-refundable and non-transferable
- All participants, or a legal guardian (18 years or over), will be required to sign a liability release form and criteria check-list before beginning the program
