Criteria for Participation

During this program the Marine Mammal Trainer will give an informal educational presentation while guests have the opportunity to observe a dolphin in a deep water encounter.

Program duration is approximately 45 minutes with approximately 20 minutes in the water.

The use of a supplied wet suit or rash vest and board shorts is required in all water-based programs and is included in the cost of the program. Swimwear must be worn underneath wet suits or rash vests and board shorts.
 
For the safety of the animals we do not permit jewellery to be worn on any Animal Adventures program.

Participants are required to check-in at the Animal Adventures Centre one hour prior to the program start time.
 
Dolphin Aqua Adventure programs are available 7 days a week and have approximately 14 participants per program. All participants of this experience must hold a valid pass to enter the park.
 
Please note that the Child Dolphin Aqua Adventure takes place at a different time and location to the Dolphin Deep Water Adventure.

  • Each encounter is unique, allowing our specialists to be guided by the dolphins as to how they participate with guests.
  • Participants must be 9+ years of age and a minimum of 132cm in height. Participants will be measured without footwear on the day of participation. If the participant does not meet the height restriction they will not be able to participate and will not be eligible for a refund
  • Participants must be competent swimmers/able to swim unaided
  • Participants must be able to speak and/or understand English, or have a translator participate in the program with them (one translator per two participants maximum). There are no complimentary programs for translators. Persons acting as a translator must advise staff at the start of the program. Translators must satisfy all criteria
  • Participants must have controlled motor movement
  • Guests must remove any visible jewellery that can be removed including but not limited to; necklaces, bracelets, ear rings, body piercings, religious and cultural ornamentation, hair clips and pins (a single hair band is permitted) or any other accessories deemed not suitable in the program environment
  • Participants must follow directions quickly to the satisfaction of staff
  • Participants must be able to quickly exit the pool area unassisted
  • Based on medical advice, participants must not be pregnant
  • Participants must not have any open cuts or infections
  • Guests with disabilities are asked to call Customer Connect on 133 386 directly to determine suitability to participate in the Animal Adventures programs. Please note a limited number of special needs programs are available for people with disabilities that otherwise prohibit them from participating


All participants, or a legal guardian (18 years or over), will be required to sign a liability release form and criteria check-list before beginning the program.
