General

Sea World is open all year round excluding Christmas Day (25 December). On Anzac Day, Sea World is open from 1:30pm.

No, however there are a number of public buses and taxis arriving and departing regularly. For more information regarding Gold Coast Surfside Buses please visit the website – www.translink.com.au or contact Trans Info on 13 12 30.

You are not permitted to bring in food and drink including eskies and coolers. Guests with the following dietary requirements are exempt from this policy:

 

• Guests with allergies

• Infants and babies

• Pre booked education groups

 

You can bring in fruit and bottled water.

Coin-operated lockers are available for hire with costs ranging from $12.00 to $20.00 for a large size locker. Locker locations can be found in the Sea World Park Map.

Smoking, vaping and use of e-cigarettes are permitted in the park’s designated smoking areas only, no food or beverage may be consumed in designated smoking areas under Queensland Law.

The Gold Coast has a delightful subtropical climate. Average daytime temperature during summer (December to February) is 28 degrees Celsius. The average temperature in winter (June to August) is a very mild 21 degrees Celsius. Comfortable clothing and footwear is recommended for your day at Sea World. Hats and sunscreen are recommended year-round. A light jacket may be required in winter. Footwear is compulsory on all attractions. The parks are a casual, family-oriented environment. Ensuring that the parks are family friendly is an important part of the Sea World experience.

Inappropriate Attire:

Attire that is not appropriate for the parks—and which may result in refusal of admittance—includes but is not limited to:
- Costumes may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older
- Masks may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older (unless they are for medical purposes)
- Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics


Sea World is located on the Gold Coast in the south east corner of the Australian State of Queensland. The Gold Coast is a very popular holiday destination for Australians and overseas travellers with some of the world's safest and most beautiful beaches, international standard accommodation, world class shopping and dining, and a picturesque hinterland.

It is also Australia's theme park capital, home to Sea World, Sea World Resort & Water Park, Warner Bros. Movie World, Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast, Australian Outback Spectacular and Paradise Country. You can get to the Gold Coast by road, rail and air. It has its own International and Domestic Airport, with Brisbane International and Domestic Airports about an hour’s drive away.

Tickets

Children from 3 - 13 years of age are eligible for a child's Single Day Pass. Children under the age of 3 can enter the park free of charge.

This depends on the type of pass you have.

• Single Day admission is a single use ticket that can be presented within 12 months of purchase.

• The Super Pass is a seven consecutive day ticket that can be presented within 12 months of purchase.     

• The Mega Pass is a fourteen consecutive day ticket that can be presented within 12 months of purchase.

 

If you cannot remember when you purchased the pass, or are still unsure of what date your pass expires, please call 13 33 86 and one of our friendly staff will be happy to assist you.

Yes absolutely, please bring valid photo ID and present to any ticket booth at our theme parks and we will confirm your pass details and allow entry for any valid pass.

The Pension Rates will be available to the following guests:

  • Holders of a valid Australian Government issued Pension Concession Card* (PPC) which is issued to recipients of the following pension payments:
    – Sole Parenting Pension
    – Mature Aged Pension
    – Disability Pension
  • Holders of a valid Australian Government issued Seniors Card
  • Any person 65 years of age or older - proof of age is required

 

* Please note: The Pension rate is only available to the actual card holder and not other listed persons on the card. This does not include holders of Australian Health Care Cards.

Guests who produce a Companion Card (companioncard.gov.au/) are entitled to one (1) free of charge Companion Ticket so that their companion can provide care and support during the visit. Companion tickets are available at the Front Gate Admissions booths only on presentation of the card on the day of the visit. Please refer to Conditions of Entry for further information.

Guests who produce a Carer’s Card issued by relevant State or Commonwealth authorities (as opposed to a Companion Card) will be entitled to a discounted admission rate on presentation of the card at the park Admission booths.

Rates are available for holders of a State or Commonwealth authority's Disability Pension card at the ticket booths on the day of your visit upon card presentation.

Guests with any special needs should visit Guest Services upon arrival and our friendly team will provide assistance in planning their day.

All Village Roadshow Theme Parks offer parking for guests with disabilities. Limited wheelchair hire is available at all parks however during peak periods we recommend to call ahead to Guest Services to book in advance of your visit.

Unfortunately Sea World does not offer a discounted entry for pregnant women. Sea World is a very visual park, with rides forming only a small portion of what the park has to offer.

 

Guests who are unable to experience the rides at Sea World still have the opportunity to view our exhibits such as the Polar Bears, Penguin Encounter and Seal Harbour as well as the shows, presentations and feeding times.

Industry discounts are available to select Industry employees upon meeting certain criteria, please apply online here . If your request is approved, you will need to show proof of employment (a business card or letter from employer) plus photographic ID at the theme park ticket booths.

Animals & Attractions

Places in Animal Adventures programs are limited and can be pre-booked online or by telephoning Customer Connect on 13 33 86 (or +61 7 5519 6200 from outside Australia or Free Call 0800 123 386 within New Zealand). Program dates are generally released to be booked between 1 - 2 months in advance.

From adrenaline pumping rides including the mighty Leviathan and Storm Coaster to incredible educational talks, as well as Seal Guardians and Affinity Dolphin Presentations.

Services & Facilities

Yes, Sea World has Parents Rooms. These rooms contain private feeding areas and separate changing facilities and are located at:

  • Top Terrace – to the left of the Sea World Exit Shop.
  • Between Shark Bay and Penguin Point

You can find First Aid near the Top Terrace.

Standard Stroller

$20.00 non-refundable hire fee. The hire fees include GST and is per day or part thereof. These strollers are intended for children 6 months – 3 years of age, up to 15kgs in weight and under 100cm in height. A form is ID is required.

Wheelchair

Wheelchair hire is complimentary.

A form of is required. A limited amount of wheelchairs are available so we recommend you pre-book with Guest Services.

Tickets may be purchased at the admission gates by cash/EFTPOS, credit card. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club International, American Express and JCB cards.

 

An automatic teller machine is located at the Top Terrace.

Sea World offers parking for guests with disabilities and a wheelchair hire service. Many rides and attractions are accessible by wheelchair.

Guests who produce a Companion Card are entitled to 1 free of charge companion ticket so that their companion can provide attendant care support during the visit. Guests who produce a Carer's Card (or similar) issued by relevant State or Commonwealth authorities will be entitled to a discounted admission rate.

After Dark Events

Sea World Carnivale transforms the park with incredible colour and culture in a festival by the sea. With mesmerising street performers, delicious food and the Aquacolour Spectacular, Sea World Carnivale is an experience for the whole family.

Sea World Spooky Night is Sea World’s after hours family event. The event starts at 5:30pm and transforms the park into a spooky land. Experience incredible precincts, spooktivities, shows & presentations, selected rides and night, plus much more!

The theme park, and the Studios' management have no involvement with the productions and do not employ any cast or crew. The Studios are responsible for hiring out the facilities and each production is responsible for hiring their own personnel.
